Yet Another Jaish commander gunned down in Anantnag
The terrorist from Jaish-e-Mohammad who killed the Station House officer in Anantnag has been killed by the security forces, along with his associate. He had attacked the CRPF personnel on June 12th this year and killed 5 CRPF personnel along with the SHO, Arshad Khan.
Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday said they have eliminated a top Jaish-e-Mohammad commander who was responsible for the killing of a Station House Officer in Anantnag and five CRPF personnel in south Kashmir in June.Police identified the Jaish commander as Fayaz Panzoo who was active in south Kashmir. Based on credible information the security forces started a cordon-and-search operation in Katoo Bijbehara area of District Anantnag. It was during this operation that the terrorists started firing at the security group personnel.
J&K police announced success of this operation via the Twitter.
Forces have found information and documents from the site.
“Incriminating material including arms & ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter. Pertinently, with the efforts of police and security forces, it was a clean operation and no collateral damage took place during the exchange of fire. Citizens are requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials if any,” the statement added. (source)
