Urban Naxal Gautam Navlakha was liaising with Hizbul Mujahideen

Pune Police has found during its investigation that Gautam Navlakha was liaising with Hizbul Mujahideen organization on behalf of the Naxals.   Letters written by one of the Naxals Sai Baba brought this out.

Aruna Pai, Pune Police’s counsel has stated categorically in front of the court regarding the link between this so-called activist and the Islamic terror organizations.

“He (Navlakha) has been liaising with banned terrorist organisations including Hizbul Mujahideen since 2011,” she claimed. Pai further alleged that between 2011 and 2014, Navlakha was in touch with Kashmiri separatist leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Shakil Bakshi.

Even though he was booked under the  Act, the Bombay High Court had granted him interim protection from arrest until July 23.  That protection has been extended until further orders.
