Since we are on the Great Mehdi Hasan, I wanted to bring a song that I really love!  Now, there is a history behind it – I was doing my Masters in Gujarat and I had a couple of friends from Punjab.  They had gotten besotted to this song in their cassette.  Now, I was the only one with cassette player in the group so they would come to my room every night.  They would smoke pot and drink all night until 3 am in the morning.. night after night!  And here I was – a teetotaller and a non-smoker – who would be in there with them.. listening to world philosophy through “high” minds!  They would play this song repeatedly from 10 pm to 3 am every night!!  Now there is one stanza that has always been my favorite – specifically the line that is in bold.. just one word makes that entire line come up with life – “bhi”!  Also watch it on youtube.
