Rehman Malik is angry with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi now
This guy is hand-in-glove with the extremists in Pakistan. He is the main sympathizer in the establishment of the Jehadi elements in ISI/Army as well as non-state actors. And his utterances in India were symptomatic of that. When he came here, he didn’t come here to create a dialog, but to break whatever dialog was going on. And now, as the violence in Pakistan escalates against the Shias and the Christians, Rehman Malik is again there to obfuscate the issues.
Next to doing the violent attacks is to obfuscate the matters so much, that no one can be caught. India’s Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is an expert at that – as are many other Congress politicians. And Rehman Malik – apart from other Pakistani politicians, including Imran Khan, are also adept at that.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik Monday said that banned outfits are against peace in Karachi and termed Fata, Rahimyar Khan and Miranshah as ‘strongholds of Punjabi Taliban’. Talking to media persons here, Rehman Malik said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should put aside his personal interest and launch a crackdown on Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ). He said the Badami Bagh incident will be seen as the biggest example of bad governance in the history. (link)
No one in the Pakistani establishment, whether it is Shahbaz Sharif or Rehman Malik will crackdown on the extremists. They have become too big for that. If at all, these politicians will lose their lives doing that. The only way is to hit such extremists hard from all sides.
But more importantly, fight the extremist ideologies within the country on a war footing. Otherwise, Pakistan is headed for self annihilation.
