Red lines drawn by India for the NSG approval
Before the NSG meeting, India has made it clear to the group that there are certain lines that cannot be crossed. Which are they?
– Inclusion of any clause on testing,
– Periodic review or
– Denial of enrichment and reprocessing technology
The National Security Advisor, M K Narayanan, has said that these clauses will not be welcome in the NSG. He is pushing for a work around by the group.
Very interesting predicament it seems for both sides. India would not accept these clauses while some of the US allies would want to add them. Lets see how it goes….
