Pakistan’s Kashmir Obsession
Some things just don’t change. There is a verse:
Dil jala hai to zaalim apna ghar bhi jala kar dekh;
Duniya ko akhir pata to chale ke kahin aag lagi hai
(if you heart is burning, then you should burn your house as well;
at least the world will realize that fire has erupted somewhere after all)
That is how Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir is. They have almost burnt their own house down, in trying to keep their dream of Kashmir alive. And, when I say keep the “dream of Kashmir” alive, its not some altruistic thing, but an expansionist and an Islamic agenda. Their idea of Kashmir has been to first Islamicize Kashmir and then get it for keeps, because it is Islamic. Well, things haven’t really gone their way.
Many have died and many more will die, but Kashmir – once the abode of greatest of Sages – will prove to be the death knell for Pakistan itself in the end. It already has. After all, the Jehad factories that were set up in Pakistan to “win back” Kashmir are tearing the entire country apart.
After the corrupt Yousuf Raza Gilani, there is a new PM in Pakistan – Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. He made his customary “My Heart beats for Kashmir” statement to the media, which is enough to galvanize public opinion for him one guesses.
The government would continue its support to the people of Kashmir till the resolution of the issue, said Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday, a day when talks between India and Pakistan ended in New Delhi. Ashraf said that the government would continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir till the resolution of issue in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of Kashmiris, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
If I was leading India and if I had to completely destroy Pakistan, I would just do one thing. Not resolve Kashmir. Which is what Pakistani Army also wants to do. Except that, India has been able to handle the Kashmir fallout. Pakistan won’t. It will have to pay for it with its own existence.
