Monotheism…. really?
Islam is said to be a monotheistic religion. But is it? Look at these two verses. They tell a totally different tale. They essentially say that someone is asserting that “My God is better than Yours”. There is no logic to it.. no way to qualify who is greater and why.. just assertive statements in these verses and those before and after. So, they say that there are multiple “Creators” and “Sustainors”… but our version is the best! Hmmm…
Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators, [Quran: 37:125, Yusuf Ali]
Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. [Quran: 23:72, Yusuf Ali]
These seem completely at odds with the assertion that God is One and without form. First of all, by saying a “God” is a “He” is giving God a form anyways.. because, to tell that the Big G is a He and not a She, you have to have a distinguihsing “feature”. That FEATURE is form enough!
Anyways, things to think about…
