Kashmir issue may not even be discussed during Modi-Xi summit
Pakistan keep calling China its eternal friend. In fact, Imran Khan is at pains to dodge the whole question of Uighur Muslims and their pathetic treatment by the Chinese only because China is such a “great friend”.
After the abrogation of Article 370 by the Modi government, the Pakistani establishment has gone crazy trying to demonize Modi and trying to throw mud on India. In that process, interestingly, Pakistan is the one who got exposed. Everyone knows which is the place that focuses on terror.
As Pakistan tries to unleash its fake Kashmir agenda on the world, China has snubbed it. When President Xi Jinping and PM Modi meet in the second informal summit, China has cleared up that Kashmir will not be a ‘major topic’.
When Pakistan went on the “diplomatic offensive” it wanted its friends to side with it. UAE did not. The Saudis did not. US did not. And now even the Chinese have deserted them!
China on Tuesday said the Kashmir issue may not be a “major topic” of discussion during the planned 2nd informal summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping, notwithstanding the high voltage campaign by its close ally Pakistan over India revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Actually, forget about being a major topic, it may not even be discussed because is sure that PM Modi does not want to give Pakistan’s rants much importance.
“As for Kashmir will be on the agenda, I’m not sure because this is kind of informal summit and leaders’ meeting I think better we need to give the leaders much time to discuss whatever they would like to discuss,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a media briefing here.
“For this kind of informal summit, I think it is better to leave the leaders much time to discuss whatever they would like to discuss,” she said
And is there anyone who thinks Modi will be keen on bringing up Kashmir, which he has said clearly is an internal matter for India? This kind of statement from China is a clear indication that the agenda will be set with approval of PM Modi and not unilaterally by China. And Modi will never bring in Kashmir with a 3rd party.
So there!
You see, that is how totally cut-off Pakistan is from its own reality. No one, not even its so called closed allies give a damn about them, but Pakistan is ready to give up everything for it. We had shared how China and Pakistan’s relationship may not be what it is made out to be, specifically given how Masood Azhar was allowed to be declared a terrorist.
Now, Pakistan’s favorite topic – Kashmir – is being completely sidelined by China for its upcoming Summit with Modi.
