Jamaat-e-Islami wants to enforce dress code in Kashmir, Taliban style
Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir is a Cadre-based Islamic organization which is actively involved in Kashmir and is overtly anti-Indian. One of its founders is Syed Geelani, the extremist who is the darling of the Indian anarchists like Arundhati Roy.
Well, as the tourism in Kashmir increases, the Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir wants to establish to establish a Taliban like situation in Kashmir. So, they have started warning tourists to not wear skimpy clothes which are against the “local ethos and culture”. What if they don’t do so? They will face an “angry reaction”, which is euphemism for violence.
After so many years the tourism has revived, when last year 15 lakh tourists visited Kashmir, while upto now 5 lakh tourists have already visited the valley. All those years when the terrorist activity was at its peak, and tourism had all but disappeared, and locals were living in fear and without jobs.
All these Islamic parties, far from being friends of Kashmiris, are actually the biggest threat to them!
