Is US readying for a War against Iran in August?

US has already stationed three large aircraft carriers – USS Enterprise, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and the USS Abraham Lincoln – in the Persian Gulf.  It is sending another one – USS John C Stennis – to join this fleet in August.

Not just that, US is also sending a new kind of seacrafts called SeaFox submersibles.  They are 4 feet long and 100 lbs submarines which have top speeds of 6 knots and can move at depths of 300 feet.  They are relatively cheap at a price tag of $100,000 and can be handled from anywhere in the world.  They have a sophisticated underwater camera and a sonar system.  These are the Underwater Drones!

The biggest threat from Iran right now is that it may try and plug the Strait of Hormuz – which is a narrow waterway which helps things go back and forth from the Middle East.

As Chris Harmer, Sr Analyst at the Institute for the Study of War says

“If they wanted to close the Strait of Hormuz, they could do it, but they would only be able to do it one time.”

A war in August could also be calculated for the right impact on the US elections, specially to show the toughness credentials of the President Obama.

One wonders how Pakistan and its Jehadis view Iran to be like?  On the one hand, its the Shia-land, an enemy place for largely Sunni population of Pakistan.  But on the other, Iran is the ONLY other Muslim country which has Nuke technology although not weapon grade yet.  It may though.  So even though the Arabs may not like Iran much, Pakistan has often found an unexpected refuge in Iran.  I am convinced that he next Global War will be led by the combine of China and Pakistan, with North Korea backing up this duo.  When and how that occurs is a question.  But Iran could be a trigger for something much larger than anyone may have envisaged.
