Insightful newsletter of Drishtikone - Issue #90: Co-opted in your own Genocide; Half relationships Full Desires
On October 21st, 2010 a very strange seminar was going on in Delhi and no one even questioned the whole scenario.
Arundhati Roy, Delhi University professor S.A.R. Geelani, Jammu and Kashmir University professor Sheikh Showkat Hussain, activist (and seditionist/Urban Naxal) Varavara Rao, activist Sujato Bhadra and writer Shuddhabrata Sengupta got together at LTG Auditorium at a seminar organized by The Campaign for Relief of Political Prisoners to discuss Kashmir.
Their topic and arguments were about how and why “Kashmiris” should be the only ones to decide the future of Kashmir.
A few Kashmiri Pandits started raising their voice within the auditorium for a seat at the table.
Sounds logical? They surely had more claim to Kashmir than the self-appointed moral policemen like Arundhati and Shuddhabrata by any stretch of imagination!
But the police was called and the Kashmiri Pandits were thrown out and arrested.
I brought it up with a journalist friend of mine and pointed out the level of injustice. It did not even register with him. The fact that in a seminar where “Kashmiri voice for Kashmir” was the thrust, Kashmiri Pandits were being thrown out at the behest of Arundhati Roy did not raise any eyebrows. There were no Opeds, no debates, no articles. Washington Post did not cover it. Heck, my own friend found nothing wrong with it.
And, I stood there wondering if I was living in an alternate universe?
Normalizing of Islamic Jihad was being sold as “Kashmiriyat” and Kashmiri rights and no one was even allowed to raise their voice. Worse, if someone did, s/he was arrested. And that was OK. It was a perfectly normal scenario.
What irked me most was my friend actually laughed at the fact that I even remembered the whole incident.
“The hypocrisy was so loud, it hit me in the face. I haven’t been able to forget it even for a day, and you are asking me how I remember it?!!!” I said.
He went quiet.
When you, your identity, your heritage, your very voice is being drowned, killed, and destroyed - not with a loud bang but with hard, often silent knocks - and you are told that it is your destiny, fate or worse - the ideal way to be. Know that a genocide is being committed against you and you are being coopted as your own killer!
Secularism is a genocide of Hindus, where - like the brown sepoys of Jallianwala Bagh - we have been recruited as our own killers. The only difference is that the massacre of our identity and voice is without a bang.
And, we, the sorry, helpless, idiotic we, are enjoying shooting the present and future of our kids, brothers, sisters, and family. I may not have known BK Ganjoo, but in my expansive self encompassing humanity, he was me. The kids who will, not if, be killed in the coming decades may not have my blood, but they will share the some part of the consciousness that seeped me in its beauty as well.
It is our collective genocide by ourselves. All for a cleverly disguised “ideal” concocted by the genocidal forces, called “Secularism”.
To ensure I never forgot about that injustice in LTG Auditorium, I wrote an article - How Kashmiri Pandits were systematically and forcefully thrown out of the Kashmir Dialog by the Secularists
When you, your identity, your heritage, your very voice is being drowned, killed, and destroyed while you are coopted as your own killer - and you are told this is the ideal way to live. Know very clearly that a Genocide is being committed against you! #Kashmir https://t.co/9tsYRvo5Zu

media's twisted narratives and 'god-men' ideas
You can call him whatever you want and make fun of his products the way you want, but Swami Ramdev is an exceptional person. Very few have been able to do what he has done. A man who would go door to door selling Chyawanprash on rented bicycle to now the owner of a multi-billion enterprise is a big leap. Today, the company is planning to bid for the title sponsorship. Many memes are coming up on Twitter, but quite honestly, these are done by people who are inherently losers. Their inferiority comes out via their hatred and bigotry.
IPL 2020: Baba Ramdev's Patanjali likely to bid for title sponsorship: Report
IPL 2020: The BCCI had on August 6 confirmed that Vivo will not be the title sponsor this year.
And, the bigoted journalists and so-called intellectuals just cannot stop. They have a twisted understanding of Hinduism, Spirituality and Yogis based on specific evangelist and imperialist narratives to shame the natives who were successful, and they keep parroting it thinking that they are some kind of geniuses. That doesn’t fly anymore.
One such person tried this stunt with Sadhguru. She didn’t realize what was coming. And she, and others like her, got a lesson of a lifetime! A woman who thought it beneath her to even remember the name of Swami Ramdev, was told exactly why she was an imbecile idiot!

Sex robots are ‘redefining human existence’ after unprecedented AI upgrades. Journalist Jenny Kleeman has written a new book called “Sex Robots & Vegan Meat” where she has explored the fast-growing world of sex dolls. An industry, that is booming during the pandemic.
She did this after she visited the elite Abyss factory in San Diego.
“When it becomes possible to have a relationship where the only thing that matters is what one half of the partnership wants, where you can have interactions and all that matters is what you want to do and what you fancy doing, and when you become used to having relationships with something that doesn’t have free will, that doesn’t have independent ambitions, or in-laws, or friends you don’t like, then going out and having relationships with human beings and using empathy is going to be harder work.” (Source)

Heer at Waris Shah's memorial
I was introduced to folk songs in my own mother tongue Punjabi very late in life. One folk form that has always touched me is Heer. I have listened to Gurdaas Mann for hours and also to a Pakistani Punjabi singer - Shaukat Ali, who sang really well.
One day, I chanced upon this amazing rendition of Heer by a singer they called Saain. He is singing at the memorial of Waris Shah, one of the foremost poet in Punjabi. The site is at Jandiala Sher Khan, Sheikhupura, now in Pakistan. My own family came from one of the villages near that place. The singer is obviously high on opium or some drug, but his rendition is a master class in Heer!
