I want Pirates with Eye-bands!
The captain of US cargo ship, Richard Phillips, has been freed by the Somalian pirates. Well, thats wonderful!
But there are a few questions that bother me:
1. Given the regular diet of Star Wars and Star Treks, shouldn’t we have been fighting with pirates from the other galaxy rather than some jokers from a poor African country in INDIAN Ocean? Of course, if the Ocean was named Pakistani Ocean, I am sure by now the entire Pakistani blogosphere would have been abuzz with the American Controversy to malign the name of Pakistan because CIA is staging a pirate threat in an Ocean named after their country! Ok, so we Indians aren’t that stuck up about our name.. take it.. muddle it.. who cares. In any case, the America STARTED by messing us up anyways .. way back!
But seriously. What’s these pirate thingy doing in 21st century! It seems the more we go forward.. we seem to be going backwards.
2. Second thing. I have grown up looking at pirates with the eye band and some tough looking faces with cuts all over. Rough looking men over whom all the girls with a penchant for testosterone swoon over. And, really speaking.. for me the litmus test is the EYE BAND. You aint got a EYE BAND.. you aint a Pirate! But look at those guys on the deck in chains.. caught.. do they seem like Pirates?
You HAVE to dress the part, guys! Just go watch a good movie.. go on e-bay or go to some Adult Entertainment shop in the US (someone HAS to have that kinda fetish in the US.. believe me!).. or if nothing works.. go to Party City… and get the right size uniforms for your self! But don’t… DON’T come out in those non-piratey clothes! It just insults those hours I have spent watching Pirate movies and being fascinated by them.
I know, Capt. Phillips had a tough time and his folks are happy to have him back for Easter.. but next time Captain you venture out into those seas… please for God’s sake.. find a Pirate with an Eye band. If you can’t.. .then why not take some along and gift some around to them.. so at least when those rats are caught and photographed.. THEY LOOK THE PART!
