God and the Mathematicians

Mathematicians are more religious than their scientist brethren.  A survey by National Academy of Science shows Mathematicians are 2.5 times more likely to believe in God than Biologists (14.6% Mathematicians vs 5.5% biologists).

Well, that is a lot of people of number believing in a God.  No match against a common Canadian.  Canadians, in general, have a score of 80% – their scorn for conservative led Bush Government notwithstanding!

As somebody said: With or without religion, good people will do good, and evil people will do evil. But for good people to do evil, that takes religion

So, does the concept of “God” need to oscillate between disbelief and belief?  A question of science and non-science? Or can “God” be understood in a way that both science and spiritual can be comfortable with?  If God is to be dexcribed as the “Truth” (about creation); then no matter which path youi start to explore “It”, the results and conclusions should be very similar.  Isnt it?
